“Not playing for Nigeria doesn’t mean I don’t love Nigeria, Michael Olise has explained his decision not to represent the Super Eagles, insisting that it should never be mistaken for a lack of pride in his Nigerian heritage.
Not playing for Nigeria doesn’t mean I don’t love my country. I have deep respect for Nigeria, My parents always remind me where I come from, and I value that a lot.
I still have people in Nigeria that I support and help whenever I can.
That’s my own way of showing how much I care about my country of origin.
Olise made it clear that while his international football journey took a different path, his connection to Nigeria remains strong and important to him.
The talented midfielder believes representing a different national team does not erase his roots, his family ties, or the appreciation he has for the country of his parents.
